Colon Clense – Cleansing Your Colon The Natural Way

Category : Colon Cleanse

Cleansing the natural way – The safest and most natural way to go about a colon clense is by simply helping your body do a better job of moving your bowels.

How do you do that?

Simply by increasing the amount of fiber in your diet. Eat oatmeal for breakfast (the old-fashioned kind is better then the “quick cooking” variety). Eat more fruits and whole grains. Snack on prunes or raisins. Make an effort to eat some vegetables (preferably raw) with every meal.

Increasing your water intake can also do wonders for your colon. Constipation can often be blamed on not drinking enough water throughout the course of the day. So try to drink more water and see if it helps.

Colon Cleaning without pills – Most of the expensive Cleansing “blends” and laxative preparations available on the market include these three natural cleansers:

Senna– The leaves and pods of the Senna plant contain the powerful laxative anthraquinone. Senna is available in inexpensive tea bags, as a crushed herb, and in liquid or powdered extract form. Like other laxatives, Senna should not be used for more than seven consecutive days unless prescribed by your doctor.

Patients with diverticular disease, ulcerative colitis, heart, liver or kidney disease, severe hemorrhoids, blood vessel disease, anemia, gastrointestinal cancer, and those who underwent recent colon surgery are not advised to take Senna or other herbs containing anthraquinone. Large doses of anthraquinones may cause bloody diarrhea or vomiting.

Psyllium husks – Psyllium husks, flax husks, or flax seeds absorb water and expand as they move through the colon, helping flush out accumulated toxins. Psyllium is widely used to relieve constipation and treat diarrhea, hemorrhoids, bladder problems and even high blood pressure. The commonly recommended dose is one teaspoon three times a day. Psillium does not work well on people with diabetes and those with bowel or intestinal obstruction.

Black Walnut –Black Walnuts are not just a healthy snack. They are also considered an effective treatment for constipation, indigestion and diarrhea. It can be taken to promote bowel regularity. Black Walnuts hulls contain a substance that helps eliminate internal parasites such as tapeworms. When unripe, the nut also has worm killing properties. Dried, powdered Black Walnut bark is also used as a purgative.

Colon clense with the “poor man’s pill” – Magnesium Oxide in pill or powdered form is said to be the best, safest and cheapest intestinal cleanser. It is a lot safer to take since it is mostly just oxygen and water, and the extra magnesium is needed by the body for healthy heart and kidney function.

How does it work?

When mixed with water and consumed, Magnesium Oxide releases large amounts of oxygen in the intestinal tract. The released oxygen then reacts with hydrogen to form water. This process of oxidation and hydration helps soften and eliminate impacted and hardened fecal matter. It stimulates intestinal cleansing without the usual abdominal pain associated with other laxatives.
